Boys U10

U11 Soccer for the 2016/17 Season
Posted on Feb 21, 2015
Hello Parents and Guardians!

This message is intended for parents/guardians of boys currently playing for KYSA who is eligible to play at the U11 age group in the upcoming season.  This is primarily for athletes born in 2005 although players born in 2006 may also be considered for "playing up".

The U11 age is the first age group at which children are tiered. The idea behind tiering is to group athletes of similar ability together on a team to play against other teams at the same level.  This ensures teams are equally matched and everyone can have a fun and exciting season.  Teams are typically divided into Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions.

We are hoping to have enough children to create 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze teams.  Please note that this is based on final registration numbers and relative ability of the players. Also note that the coaches may decide that there are not sufficient kids to form all these teams.

Most, if not all of the current U10 coaches have committed to continue to coach (as volunteers) at the U11 level next season.   Thank you to our volunteer coaches!!

In order for this tiering to occur, KYSA will be holding U11 player assessments March 3, 4, and 5 @ 6:00-7:30 pm at the Killarney Oval. Max McRae, our KYSA resident coach, will organize the sessions, while the current U10 coaches, (along with other KYSA coaches) will assess the players.  All children should plan to attend all three sessions and must check-in at each session to confirm their personal information (name, phone#, parent’s names, email, etc.).

Please keep in mind that the assessments are OPEN, so if your kids have any friends that are interested in playing soccer with KYSA ( even if they are new to playing soccer or are with a different club this year ) please invite them to attend.
